Experienced Leadership.
RESIDENTS FIRST.
For nearly four decades, I have proudly called Springwater home. My lifelong commitment to public service spans a career in policing and two terms in elected office.
As your Deputy Mayor, I have worked to be accessible, prepared, and accountable, always putting residents first. As Mayor, I will bring experienced, steady, and respectful leadership, work collaboratively with every member of Council, and will not use Strong Mayor Powers – always putting Springwater first.

COMMITTED TO OUR COMMUNITY & FIRST RESPONDERS
A Family Dedicated to Service
Having called Springwater home for nearly four decades, my deep commitment to community service is a value shared across my entire family. My son, Josh, a chef by trade, has volunteered extensively near the Zaporizhzhia Front in Ukraine providing hot meals and currently feeds crews battling forest fires in Northern Ontario. My daughter, Chelsea, followed her mother’s footsteps into law enforcement with the Barrie Police Service before joining Barrie Fire and Emergency Services as a firefighter. Beyond our family’s active service—and the joy of welcoming our first grandchild on July 8th, 2026—I am a proud supporter of Boots on the Ground. This charitable organization provides confidential, compassionate, and anonymous 24/7 peer support to first responders across Ontario, including police, firefighters, paramedics, nurses, corrections staff, military, veterans, and dispatch operators.
A Proven Voice for Springwater
“As President of the Springwater United Soccer Academy, I am proud to endorse George Cabral for Mayor of Springwater Township.
Our community thrives when local leadership invests in youth and sports. George understands that quality fields and accessible recreational programs build stronger, healthier communities.
He has consistently advocated for modernizing our local facilities and ensuring every child has the opportunity to play. These qualities have been recently demonstrated in ensuring our association has access to the Adam Elliott Park in Midhurst.
George brings the leadership, experience and dedication needed to deliver real results for our families on and off the field. I encourage our entire soccer family and beyond to vote George Cabral for Mayor on Election Day.”
President of the Springwater United Soccer Academy
“I observed George’s performance on Council the first term after I was Mayor and to say the least was impressed. His thoughtful input on matters before council were well researched and
added to the decision making process resulting in better outcomes. If not for his leadership and calm, but pointed approach in his second term, there would have been more chaos on Council because of the weakness of the Mayor’s leadership experience and ability.”
Springwater Mayor 2014-2018
“I am proud to offer my 100% support to George Cabral for Mayor of the Township of Springwater.
Having served alongside George during his first term on Council from 2018 to 2022, I know firsthand that he brings genuine common-sense leadership to municipal governance. George listens carefully to residents, does his homework, understands the everyday issues facing our community, and always treats taxpayer dollars with the utmost respect.
A great example of his dedication occurred when the Elmvale Food Bank needed a new facility. It took just one visit to the old building with former Mayor Don Allen (may he rest in peace) and myself for George to see that an immediate change was needed. George was front and center with this project to make the new building happen.
George Cabral has proven he has the experience, integrity, and common sense needed to lead our township. I am glad to speak up for George, and I encourage everyone to get behind him for Mayor.”
